Cambria’s first trip to the dentist

Our last dentist didn’t start seeing kids until they were a bit older, so Bri hadn’t been yet.  I decided to switch to a dentist that was closer to our house, and she was finally able to go.  I’m SO glad I switched because the old dentist didn’t even let parents back in the room with the kids!  I haaaaaaated that (and so did Kyrie and Asher!).  This new office is so great, and the hygienist and dentist even had me get right up there to see a few things they were doing.  She was such a champ!!  Here she is in the cool chair!

Here she is getting x-rays.  I thought she’d freak out when I had to leave the room, but she did awesome.  The hygienist, Heather, was so great with Bri and so patient.  She explained every little thing, let Bri touch all the instruments, and just made her very comfortable.

Then it was on to the cleaning.  They gave her some glasses to wear so their lights wouldn’t hurt her eyes.  She didn’t have any cavities, and he said her thumb sucking hasn’t done any damage to her teeth yet (WHEW!) but that she needs to stop when she’s 5.  He told her right now she has pretty princess teeth but that if she keeps sucking her thumb, her teeth will look like a bunny rabbit’s.  In the van on the way home, she said, “Mom, do bunnies suck their thumbs?”  I said no, and then she said, “Then why are their teeth pointed out?”  Ha!

Such a big girl!
