Today it was Kyrie and Asher’s turn to go to the dentist. Cambria got to go play with my friend Penny and her daughter Eva while we went. They live in right in our neighborhood, and it’s really nice having friends close by! Our other friends live all the way on the other side of town. Asher got to go first. He did great for everything. He does have 2 cavities on his back bottom 2 molars. They’re only partially grown in, and the gum has grown up over part of the tooth for some reason. The dentist said it was basically inevitable that he’d get cavities under there. I feel so bad for him having to get them filled. I am so nervous for how he’ll do at that appointment! And of course he said that Asher really, really needs to stop the thumb sucking ASAP. He said Asher’s jaw bone is still soft enough that if he stops now the damage will mostly repair itself. Otherwise it’s braces for sure (which if he takes after me will be inevitable anyway….I had some really messed up teeth as a kid!). Here he is, all smiles! They let him hold their suction tool, Mr. Thirsty, which Asher thought was the coolest.
And Kyrie’s turn! She got a lot more x-rays than Asher did. One of the machines kind of freaked her out, but she did great. No cavities, and he didn’t say anything about braces for her. Like I said a minute ago, with how my teeth were as a kid I’ll be totally shocked if our kids don’t have to get braces! Kyrie opted to use her own sunglasses instead of the office’s pair. She said they were way cooler. They offered to let her hold Mr. Thirsty as well, but she didn’t want to. Funny how each kid is so different! Asher sure tried his hardest to be able to hold it for her instead! He could not understand why he couldn’t shove that thing in his sister’s mouth.
Look at those pearly whites!
