Happy birthday, Kyrie!!

It's so hard to believe 6 years have gone by already. She entered the world such a small, sick little girl, and here she is 6 years later so healthy and smart and beautiful. You'd never know we very nearly lost her in the beginning.

We had a very low-key day today since we already celebrated by going to Chuck E. Cheese last weekend. We baked cupcakes last night, and she took them to school today to share with her teacher and class. She had a blast decorating them and was so excited to take them to school. I made 24, and only 2 came back. There are only 18 kids in her class (including her), so I guess they were a hit! :) They were ice cream cone cupcakes, and she thought they were so cool.

Before school she got to open the present Nana sent her to open on her real birthday. She was so excited and could hardly wait for Derk to wake up so she could open it. We got it in the mail on Saturday, and she's actually been carrying it around the house all weekend saying "I wonder what's in it!!" and just staring at it. It was hilarious. She loves it! Thanks, Mom!

She gets to stay at school for an extra hour(ish) on Mondays because they do theater now, and she was really excited about that. We bought her a lunch box on Saturday (Disney Princess, of course), so she was very excited to get to use that for the first time today as well. And I wrote her a little love note and stuck it in her lunch box as a little extra surprise. Her teacher made her a pink birthday crown at school, and she was so proud of that when she came home.

We took her out to Wingers tonight because they give them free meals on their birthdays, and she just LOVES the fact that they give you endless popcorn there. :) She got to wear her birthday crown and told everyone there that it was her birthday and that they should tell her happy birthday. :) She had mini corndogs, and then we went to WinCo and got all the fixin's for banana splits. Then we let her stay up a little late tonight so she could play Kelly Club Pet Parade on my laptop. She painted an elephant's toe nails and thought that was great fun. :) All in all, she had a really fun day!
