Tricky, tricky, tricky!

Last Wednesday, Derk took Kyrie to school like he usually does. Then he came home and picked the rest of us up because we had some errands to run. We had to run by the college really quickly, so Asher, Cambria and I just stayed in the van to wait for Derk. While we were waiting, I heard my phone start ringing, but I noticed the sound was coming from the back seat. Weird. So I got out of the van and opened the door to find my phone. While I was looking for it, I half-noticed this face looking at me from the floor of the van. It took me a second before I realized that someone was hiding down there! I looked again for a second time, and it was Kyrie laying on the floor! She starts laughing hysterically and yells, "Surprise!" For a second, I thought she'd snuck back into the car after Derk had dropped her off because he didn't say anything about Kyrie not being at school or anything. So I asked her what on earth she was doing, and she told me it ended up being a snow day at school. Apparently she and Derk decided to play a joke on me. She'd been back there for nearly a half hour before I noticed her. So I called Derk, and as soon as he answered he started laughing and said, "You JUST found her? Took ya long enough!" Well, geez, it's not like it's common practice for me to go looking in the back seat to see if one of my kids is hiding on the floor.... Even still, I'll give kudos where kudos are due. It was definitely tricky, and Kyrie had a ball playing a joke on me!
