We were going to drive home yesterday, but Drew and Rebecca begged us to stay another night. They bribed us with another rousing game of Settlers of Catan, and who are we to refuse a fun game night? :) I almost won, too! I only lost by 1 point. Not too shabby. We'll definitely have to add that game to our collection.
We couldn't get out of Seattle that easily. Cambria had to make the trip complete by throwing up one last time. This time it was at McDonalds where we met Drew for lunch on our way out of town. She's been doing fine since and even devoured a bowl of oatmeal this morning, so I'm keeping my fingers (and toes!) crossed! I'm just praying that my sweet little nieces don't get whatever Cambria has. Yuck.
Our drive from Seattle back to Moscow wasn't bad at all. I'd been up really late talking to Rebecca, which was a blast. Then my mind was racing all night long with all different kinds of things, so it took me a while to fall asleep. Derk woke up not feeling well, so I knew I'd have to drive most of the way. Luckily he was able to drive the first half, so I took a really nice nap. The kids were extremely well-behaved and did so well in the car.
The kids were so happy to see us (and us them!). Asher was the most excited. He kept saying, "You're here! You're here!" over and over and had a permanent smile on his face all night long. He kept bouncing back and forth between Derk and I - couldn't make up his mind who he wanted to cuddle. It was priceless. Not priceless enough to leave them again any time soon, though. It was too hard!
It's weird to be home. What has felt like home for the last 4 years doesn't really feel like home any more. It's like it's just a temporary place to rest our head until we're really home - in Yuma. It's so neat to feel that way and to know that Yuma does feel like home now. We're so excited to move in to our new place and to begin our fun lives down there!
So here are some pictures of our return trip home. I wish I could have snapped pictures of the kids as we arrived back at Drew and Rebecca's to pick them up, but that was the last thing on my mind at that moment. These pictures are mostly for Asher (okay, and Treven ;) ) because of his (their) adoration for airplanes.
