Inquiring minds want to know....

I'm stealing this from a friend's blog because I thought it was a cute idea. So here you go; more than you ever wanted to know about my hubby (and me, I guess). :)

What's his name? Derk Scott

How long have you been married? Almost 7 years!

How long did you date? We met the very last day of August 2000, and we were married in July of 2001.

How old is he? 27

Who eats more? I'd say I do. Derk's kind of weird and doesn't really eat until the afternoon.

Who said I love you first? Oh, man, I really don't think I remember! How horrible! I'd be willing to bet it was him, though. I'm not the type to say it first (though I know I felt it first but was just too chicken to say it).

Who is smarter? I would say Derk is, as far as being more well-rounded goes. He's the one in school learning all the time, so he has more book smarts. As far as day to day household type stuff goes, definitely me. I'm a better speller; he's always coming to me asking me how to spell certain words. I type faster, I read faster, I think I'm better at math (but I'm not sure about that one). He's way better at spacial type things than I am, knows much more about history and literature and art.

Whose temper is worse? It takes a lot more for Derk to get mad enough that he's going to say something. He just blows things off very easily, so you know he's really ticked if he's actually talking about it. My temper gets the better of me more often on a day to day basis, and my temper tantrums are more illogical than his are (I am a woman, after all).

Who does the laundry? Me. He'll do a load every now and then if I ask him to, but I take care of it.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you're standing at the foot of our bed, I sleep on the right side.

Who cooks dinner? I do. Derk loves to cook as much as I do and is a really great cook, but he's just so busy that he doesn't have time. I pride myself in having a hot meal ready for us to eat when he comes home from school, so I could let him cook if I didn't have such high wifely standards. He's lucky, right? :)

Who pays the bills? I do. I can't remember the last time Derk paid a bill. But we both keep track of the finances and keep each other updated on purchases and things.

Who is more spoiled? I think we're both pretty equal there.

Who drives when you are in the same car? Derk probably 95% of the time. The only time I drive is if I'm picking him up from school or if we're on a trip and are splitting up the driving.

Who is more stubborn? We both have stubborn sides to our personalities, but I'll admit I'm way more stubborn than he is the majority of the time.

Whose parents do you see the most? We used to see Derk's parents more often because they like to come down and visit at our house. But that's changed a bit over the last few months, and I'd say we see both sets pretty equally now.

Who proposed? Ha! Proposal?! It was more of a mutual hey-let's-go-get-married-now kind of thing. When we were sitting on the bench outside the Justice of the Peace's office, I did start kidding with him that I didn't get a proposal, so he got down on his knee there and asked me to marry him. What was I going to say? No? We were already there literally seconds away from getting married. I should have, just to see what his reaction would have been. :)

Who has more friends? Definitely Derk. I spend all day with the kids, and he goes to school and socializes with adults.

Who has more siblings? Definitely me. Derk has 2 sisters and 1 brother, and I have 2 sisters and 3 brothers. We're both the oldest, though.

Who wears the pants in the family? It really depends on the situation. When we're at home, he normally goes with whatever I think because I'm the one who's home much more than he is. We really do have a pretty good balance and do things as a team more than just one sided.

That's a great idea. Hope you don't mind if I steal it from you! Of course you don't. Hee hee.
