Mission : Impossible

Derk's newest hobby -- killing crickets. If he hears or so much as suspects that there's a cricket nearby, he's on a mission to find it. And he won't stop until he's found it and successfully annihilated the creature. Our garage was basically infested, and he had the time of his life sealing up all the cracks around the foundation. Sometimes he'll just stop mid-sentence, and when I ask him what he's doing, he just simply replies with a shrug, "Listening for crickets!" It's so funny to see him stop dead in his tracks to hunt down the little buggers. And it's even funnier because, like I said, it's Mission : Impossible.

In other Derk news, he starts work on July 31st. We picked up his certification paperwork today, which is a great thing. Had he not gotten his certification, we wouldn't have been able to get paid, so we're certainly grateful that the certification went through on time. :)

He's also come up with a new nickname for Cambria -- Mullet. He's called her that ever since I gave her bangs a few days ago. I can't seem to convince him that it's not a mullet - and you all know how impossible it is to convince Derk of anything once his mind is made up otherwise! :) So she is his Mullet, and, as much as it bugs me that he's dissing my hair cutting skills, it's still a cute Daddy-Daughter memory.

Ahah, that's one thing I certainly do not miss about living in an actual home - the crickets. That's some really funny stuff there.

Crickets are horrible! My husband is the cricket finder in our household too. We have a new bug in our yard too that sounds a lot like a cricket but the chirping never stops and is double the loudness. Right out side our bedroom window. ARGH! Hope you guys are able to cure your cricket problem. AZ has lots of bugs. Yuck!
