The boys

Derk and Asher each got a new toy tonight. It was really cute to see them both outside admiring their new items. They're 25 years apart, but their reactions were still so similar that I just couldn't stifle a laugh.

We went out to do our shopping and didn't get home until after 7pm. I told Derk we should just make something quick for dinner, but he insisted that it was still early enough to barbecue for dinner like we had planned. I knew he was anxious to give his new toy a try, so we made a late night of it and broke in the new grill.

Here are Asher and Derk, admiring the new grill as it cooks. And then Derk giving me the death glare -- "Quit taking my picture, and just let me grill!" :)

Asher's admiration for Daddy's new toy didn't last long. He quickly remembered his and left Daddy's side to give it a try. He took right to it and figured it all out with very little difficulty. And he's been riding it almost non-stop ever since.
