Shriner Circus

We got 3 free child's admission tickets to the Shriner's Circus, so we took the kids tonight. We took them out to Sonic before the circus started, which they thought was great (cherry limeade, anyone?). I had been so busy that whole morning that I forgot to eat, so the Sonic burger I got tasted incredible. Funny how that happens.

When we pulled in to the fairgrounds parking lot, there were people picketing the circus. I thought that was quite hilarious. A court case? Sure. But a circus?! That's just silly-ness. We got there a little bit early, so we got seats right up front. The kids got to walk around a bit before the show started. I wish they didn't charge an arm and a leg for all the fun stuff because I sure would have loved to let them ride the miniature horses and the elephant. But apparently our kids value treats better than riding a boring, old elephant. They decided they'd rather have slushies and cotton candy instead! ;)

(Kyrie scarfed hers down before I could catch a picture!)

We saw a lot of really neat things. As I was watching these people perform, I realized how crazy I think they are! Can you imagine doing some of this stuff at all, let alone without a safety net below you?! Sorry for the slight blur to most of the pictures -- even though we were right up front, it still wasn't very close to the arena, so I had to zoom in a bit more than my camera likes to do, I guess.

First up were the ladies doing tricks on some rope:

Next was this crazy duo. In this first picture, he's hanging on to the bar, and she's hanging upside down on his feet with only her feet:

We saw bears riding on rocking horses:

Asher's favorite (and mine, too!) were the Evil Knievel dudes! Asher loves motorcycles and dirt bikes anyway, so this was just the cream of the crop for my little guy!

Kyrie and Asher had a blast, that's for sure! I thought Cambria would, too, but it was past her bed time, and she was just plain exhausted. We came home, sanitized the kids from head to toe :) , and then they all crashed within minutes. That's just the way we like it! :)

What a fun night! Abbie loved the motorcycle videos; on the first one she asked, "Mom, is that Uncle Derk?"
I also am tagging you for 6 quirks about you, so TAG, you're it!
