I cannot believe my little Asher is 4. He's been reminding me all day that he's a big boy now, and he's already talking about turning 5. I keep telling him I'm still getting used to the idea that he's 4 and to please stop talking about #5 for at least 360 more days. :)
So when I asked him what kind of party he wanted, he started jumping up and down saying he wanted a Spiderman party. Of course, why did I even have to ask? :) So he and I went to Party City and got all the Spiderman stuff we could find. It was fun this year because we were finally able to do a pinata! It was always too snowy and cold back in Idaho to do one, so he was super excited. Funny story about the pinata. Once the pinata was finally broken, Asher started crying and got mad at Kyrie for breaking it. It was hysterical -- he had no idea that pinatas are supposed to be broken! So cute.
As for the cake, it didn't turn out at all the way I wanted. I baked the cake like I always do, but when I went to take it out of the pan, the bottom half stayed in the pan while the top half fell out in about 10 pieces. Lovely. I had no time left to bake another one, so I had to jazz up a store bought cake instead. I was so bummed -- I was really looking forward to making this cute cake I'd found online.
He had such a fun day. We had his party yesterday and invited all of his friends. I think we had 11 or 12 kids here. I lost track. It was crazy but so fun. The weather was so nice that we were able to do the entire party outside.

Time to party!

Presents!

4 years ago today we were blessed by your birth. I cannot believe you are 4 years old already. You have been such a joy to all of us. You are so loving and cuddly and sweet. Your laugh is infectious and your eyes always radiate your happiness. When your Daddy suggested the name "Asher", I had no idea how perfect that name was for you and how fully you'd live up to its meaning. You are a beautiful boy with a beautiful heart, and we all love you so very much. Happy 4th birthday, Buddy!!

Thank you, Hillary for the great post and pictures!
I sure love that little guy and think he is the cutest 4 year old I know : ). I love the picture of him hitting the pinata- he's so focused : ).
And how fun for an outdoor party?! I bet that made clean-up a breeze, and it looks so warm -yes, we have snow outside : (.
Have a fun week with Mom and Dad, and give that Asher extra hugs for us!
Aw, what an excellent party. Befitting for the Spiderman addict! Love the Venom costume, he looks so sinister! Next year I'll have a job (hopefully), so I'll have enough money (double hopefully) to spoil my little nephew and nieces! Tell Asher I love him very much and I'm so proud of this big boy!
Looks so fun Hilary, great job on the party! Asher is such a handsome little dude. I can't believe he's four! Leda's right behind him...I can't stand it. Someone needs to find a way to make time slow down a bit. These kids of ours are growing so fast. I love the pics, how sweet is that about Asher being sad about his pinata?! I love it! lol
Wow! I remember when he was barely walking! Time sure does fly.
