Fun with Nana and Jonathan!

My mom and brother came for a visit, and we had so much fun. My mom had the tickets purchased for over a month, and my kids were going crazy waiting for the day to arrive. They'd ask me every day how many more days until Nana and Jonathan would get here. They flew in just before 3 last Wednesday, and Kyrie was literally counting down the seconds until the plane landed. It was so cute to see how excited the kids were to have visitors.

We tried to do as much as we could while they were here. Derk was able to take Friday off, so we got to go to San Diego for 2 days and have fun at the beach and the zoo. We spent lots of time outside, my mom spent hours with Kyrie at the pool, Jonathan and Asher had a lot of uncle-nephew bonding time playing the Nintendo DS, and my kids followed other people around like crazy for a week, giving me a break! :)

And I can't forget to mention how SPOILED my kids were by their Nana! My goodness, I don't even think I can remember all the fun things she got for them while she was here. Kyrie got 2 journal/diary type books, a Barbie and several jewelry items and a princess wallet from Claires. Asher got a Superman car, a Batman mask and a tiger from the zoo. Cambria got a new dress up dress, shoes and some sunglasses. I'm sure there's more, but, like I said, I just can't keep track of it all. It was fun to watch my mom get so into spoiling the grandkids. I bet that's such a fun aspect to being a grandparent.

And Jonathan, I am warning you right now that I will be posting tons of pictures of you! Muwhahahaha! This boy hates having his picture taken. He conceded to giving me a few pictures, but I snuck tons more when he wasn't paying attention. :)

I called the kids over to me and said told them I wanted to get a picture of all 3 of my babies. Asher quickly corrected me and said he wasn't my baby, he was Batman. So here are my 2 babies and my Batman. :)

I think this is one of my favorite pictures of all time!

Now we must discuss the cat. Isis is very friendly and warms up to people extremely easily. She's climbing all over guests within 5 minutes -- but not Jonathan! For some reason, Isis just plain hated him! Every time Jonathan would so much as walk by her, she would hiss at him like crazy until he ran away. And I mean run away in the literal sense -- she freaked him out! :) But she sure took to Nana. I found her curled up inside my mom's backpack several times, just snoozing away!

The week went by way too fast, and the kids are already asking when Nana and Jon Jon are coming back again. Thanks for coming to visit us. We sure love you guys!
