When Daddy's in charge. . .

I had Super Saturday at church this morning, so I was up and gone right after the kids woke up. This left Derk in charge of getting them ready for the day. When I came home, I found Kyrie dressed in jeans and a (dirty) pajama shirt, Asher was wearing his shirt AND shorts backward, and Cambria, well, Derk did her hair!

Her face in that picture is priceless. I'd walked in, saw her, started laughing and ran for my camera -- she was a bit confused! :) Now, in his defense, this is what her hair looks like right now when we just leave it alone:

It's a gigantic mess of bangs that are trying to be grown out and hair that can't decide which length it wants to be. She can't see with her hair down, so he was totally doing her a favor. And I give him mass props for trying, of course. I found it so hysterical that, when Derk asked me to re-do her hair, I said no way and left it that way for the rest of the day (i.e. until it was time to go out in public!).

I give him a hard time, but really, I'm so grateful for him and all he does to help me out. He's really a fantastic husband and father, and we're all so lucky to have him. We just can't leave him in charge too often.... :)
