Kyrie's first dance class!

I signed Kyrie up for dance last Monday, and today was her first time going to class. It's a ballet/tap combination -- they do ballet for about the first 40 minutes, then they do tap for the last 20 minutes. From the moment she woke up this morning, the countdown to dance class was on! :) I was afraid there would be a policy that parents couldn't stay and watch (too much of a distraction), so when her teacher said I could stay, I was so stoked! A lot of the pictures I had to take through the window, so there's a bit of a glare/fogginess. But I did get a few before class that turned out adorable.

Oh, and when we got there and class first started, I was snapping away on my camera. One of the other moms came over and said, "This must be her first class?" as she looks at my camera. Apparently I came off as the crazy mother with the camera? lol. See what I do for you, Rebecca?! :) :)

At home, before leaving for dance

At the studio! Her ballet shoes aren't in yet, so that's why she's in socks. On the mirror behind her it says "JAMS", which is the name of the dance studio.

Stretching! This one seriously cracks me up!!

More stretching. Hopefully her flexibility improves. ;) Oh, and let me add that her teacher is like ready-to-pop-any-moment pregnant, and look at how flexible she still is!

And a few more...

She did really great for her very first time! I never thought I would be grateful for all those endless hours of her watching/practicing with her Bella Dancerella movie (and unless you've seen it, you have no idea how annoying it is...), but it really did help her know what to do in class today. We can't wait for next week!

I'm so glad you were willing to be the 'crazy camera mother' because Kyrie's crazy Aunt Rebecca has been thinking about her all day- and checking on the blog to see the pics : ). Hooray for Kyrie! I hope she really likes it and has a fun time- and I'm glad you got to stay and watch.

cute, cute! It's so fun, right? And I'm that crazy momma right there with you...though I left my camera home for L's 3rd ballet class yesterday. Impressed? I was. lol
