Playful Patterns

My awesome sister-in-law, Rebecca, is the one who introduced us to this game while she was taking care of my kids for a week (which totally qualified her for the Most Awesome Sister-In-Law of the Year Award!). Discovery Toys has some really great games. Instead of buying them directly from the website, I found this particular game on eBay for quite a bit less money.

Asher and I had a fun time playing yesterday while Cambria was still napping. As much as I really don't like Kyrie being gone for so many hours each day, I have to admit that being able to spend so much extra one-on-one time with Asher and Cambria has been really wonderful. We had a fun day together yesterday playing dress up and trucks, and today we're making soft pretzels.

This first picture isn't related to the game. Asher woke up yesterday morning, and when I told him he could go ahead and pick out his clothes for the day, he insisted on wearing an old shirt of his (that also used to be Kyrie's) that has now become Cambria's. I tried to tell him it was too small, but he was very adamant about wearing it all day. I decided to pick a different battle, sighed and gave up. :) I'm actually surprised at how well it ended up fitting him considering it's size 12-18 months!

Anyway, I love these types of games because the kids just think they're playing and don't realize they're learning a ton along the way!

Hooray for fun games! I'm so glad that Asher's loving that- you should check out the ABSeas game too (Abbie's getting it for Xmas)- It's a little fishing bingo game where they match lower and upper case letters- so fun!
